ATI trainers intensify prowess on resource speakership

QUEZON CITY, Metro Manila – Sixteen (16) staff from different regional centers of the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) underwent the Resource Speaker Development on Extension Delivery System (EDS) held at the Axiaa Hotel from November 12-16, 2018.

This training is a follow-up activity of the Training of Trainers (TOT) on EDS which was held earlier to further enhance the presentation and facilitation skills of the participants. Participants are required to conduct a mock presentation where they will deliver an assigned topic for one hour. Dr. Andrew D. Gasmen, University of the Philippines – Los Baños and Antonietta J. Arceo, Information Section Division Chief of ATI-Central Office, sat as panel of critiques.

Among the topics assigned to them were: Definition, Concepts and Fundamental Elements of AE; Global Trends in AE; Approaches; Extension Strategies; Extension Methods; Extension Modalities, Interventions, Innovations; AE System Components & the Philippine AE System; Philosophy of AE; Principles of AE; History of AE; Presentation Skill; Facilitation Skills; Basics of Communication; Communication Competence; Ethics and Role of Communication in AE.

The purpose of the training was to prepare the participants to become EDS resource speakers in their respective regions in the future.
