Mothers try concoction making.
PROSPERIDAD, Agusan del Sur – Thirty (30) mothers from the town of Talacogon were grateful for the opportunity to take part in the 3rd Batch of the Training on Organic Vegetable Production from October 22-24, 2018. Through the training they learned how to organically grow vegetables and appreciated the nutritional value of this glow food.
“From the start up to the end of the three-day training, I learned a lot about farming and preparation of organic fertilizers which is a safer and healthier option. Since we are the ones preparing it, we are able to save money. The workshops also helped a lot because there were hands-on demonstrations. During the lectures, we learned that farming practices before were cheaper and chemical-free. Overall, I am very much thankful because I was able to participate in this training and I know this can help my family and community a lot,” said Lealyn Quijada, one of the training participants from Brgy. Sabang Gibong, Talacogon.
During the training, participants were taught on how to prepare organic fertilizers like Oriental Herbal Nutrient (OHN), Fermented Fruit Juice (FFJ), Fermented Plant Juice (FPJ) and Fish Amino Acid (FAA). They were also taught how to produce organic vegetables, demonstrated proper concoction making, observed proper usage or application of organic fertilizer, conducted actual substrate mixing and familiarized the biodynamic calendar.
