CAGDIANAO, Province of Dinagat Islands (PDI) - Thirty farmers from Cagdianao, Province of Dinagat Islands (PDI) expressed their thanks to the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) for the knowledge they gained on organic farming. This happened during the conduct of the Training on Agri-based Farming System for Farm Family Productivity (Batch 2) which was held at the Function Hall of Brgy. Poblacion, Cagdianao, Province of Dinagat Islands from August 6-8, 2018.
"Thanks for your training, I learned a lot about organic farming, and how to make concoctions as well as vermiculture. I thank the ATI for sponsoring this training and the Municipal Agriculture Office for choosing me as one of the participants," Rosa A. Pepoy, a farmer from Nueva Estrella, Cagdianao.
Alan S. Azares, Agricultural Technician from the Provincial Agriculture Office of Dinagat Islands, was the resource speaker of the training. He delivered the topic on Importance of Organic Farming, Cultural Management Practices for Vegetables and Vermiculture, and Concoction Preparation and Its uses.
On the last day, the participants made an action planning wherein they were able to plan out their next step after the training. They were grouped into their respective areas and were reminded that they will be monitored after a period time. The closing program then followed with Teodoro Alipayo, Executive Assistant of LGU-Cagdianao, giving his inspirational message. He thanked the ATI Management as well as the participants for making the activity a successful one. Jocelyn A. Bayona, Training Specialist III of ATI-RTC Caraga, also responded on the positive impressions of the participants.
