PROSPERIDAD, Agusan del Sur - The three-day Training on Organic Fertilizer Production at Hygeia Integrameds Center, Patin-ay, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur on June 20-22, 2018 has been actively participated by the thirty-one (31) Senior Citizens from the different municipalities of Agusan del Sur.

On the 1st day of the training, Nila S. Estrada, Organic Focal Person from the Provincial Agriculture Office-Agusan del Sur, acted as the resource person. She has discussed on the topics on Organic Agriculture Act, Principles of Organic Agriculture and the Cultural Management Practices for Vegetables. After her discussion, an open forum was conducted in which participants were able to clarify their concerns. Estrada also gave free vegetable seeds to the participants which they were very thankful of.

On the 2nd day, the concoction preparation was discussed by Reynaldo A. Torres, an accredited extension service provider from the AMIGO Farms. He demonstrated the participants on the procedures on concoction preparation.

On the last day of the training, the participants had a farm tour at Hygeia Integrameds Center. The staff of the said center mentioned the best practices that they do which can be also done by the participants in their respective areas.

On the closing program, three (3) participants were chosen to give their impressions. They have expressed their heartfelt thanks to the sponsors and facilitators of the said training.

"This is the first time that I was invited to attend a training like this. At first, I was doubtful to attend but now I have no regrets because I learned many things. The activities were not as hard as I thought it would be. We can easily do this at home. We are thankful to ATI and the Provincial Agriculture Office of Agusan del Sur, " said Dionisio Basmayor, a resident of Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur.
