BUTUAN CITY – Twenty (20) delegates from the Regional Training Centers (RTCs) of the Agricultural Training Institute in the Visayas and Mindanao areas joined the Training on Photography held at Goat 2 Geder Hotel and Restaurant from May 21-25, 2018.

Samuel L. Calonzo, OIC-Center Director of ATI-Caraga XIII, in his message expressed his appreciation to ATI-Central Office for choosing Butuan City as venue of the said training. “This is the first time our Center has hosted a national event after a long time. So we happily welcome you all and may you enjoy your stay here in our city,” he told the audience.

The objective of the activity was to come up with quality and appropriate photos to be used in knowledge products and in RTCs’ social media accounts and websites.

Among the lectures that took place during the five-day training were: Mobile Photography delivered by Jose Rey Alo (e-Learning Process Advisor), Using DSLR and Adobe Lightroom for Editing and Database by Carlo Dacumos (PhilRice) and Photo Captioning by Antonietta Arceo (Chief of the Information Services Division of ATI-CO).

The lectures were reinforced with field workshops which were held at Palarca’s Farm in Carmen, Agusan del Norte; ATI-RTC XIII’s demonstration farm in Brgy. Los Angeles, Butuan; and Magellan’s landing site in Brgy. Masao, also in the said city.

Photographs taken through smart phones were uploaded via Instagram while shots captured using DSLR followed various composition techniques such as framing, rule of thirds, portrait (indoor and outdoor), landscape, center image, pattern and macro photography.

Alo, Dacumos and Arceo, who were all amazed by the participants’ creativity, selected the best photographic compositions during the last day.
