LOS ANGELES, Butuan City- The Agricultural Training Institute- Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) 13 recently held a 3-day training on accessory making for the persons with disabilities (PWDs) from Butuan City.
This training aimed to let participants gain appreciation on the importance of access to resources in promoting self-employment and livelihood activities, demonstrate techniques in accessory-making, create alliance to differently-able person in the community to venture into business through accessory-making.
Thirty PWDs as participants are expected to complete the required activities for the whole duration of the training on May 15-17, 2018.
Ms. Cagorol, owner of accessories store in Butuan served as the resource person for three days. She teaches participants on how to make earrings using beads on the first day which also served as their first output during their hands-on session. It also aims to uplift the spirit of the participants and instill in their mind that being a differently-able person is not a hindrance to success. Still, they can do things that are income-generating and making accessories will be their stepping stone for the next big thing.
The said training is currently held at ATI Caraga Traning Hall, Brgy. Los Angeles, Butuan City with Ms. Paula Mae Creencia, Project Officer and GAD focal person.
