RBO Point Person Mary Grace B. Salve briefs the applicants who take the national qualifying examination for the Filipino Young Farmers Internship Program in Taiwan.
BUTUAN CITY – After the initial screening of the applicants for the Filipino Young Farmers Internship Program in Taiwan, three regional qualifiers took the national examination which was held simultaneously last March 8 and 11, 2021 at the Agricultural Training Center -Regional Training Center 13, Los Angeles, Butuan City.
The qualifiers are Dory R. Palapar of Bislig City, Reueljan B. Carrillo of Butuan City and Rendale E. Ragas of Cabadbaran City. They will be subjected to field validation and interview by the regional committee on March 12 – 15, 2021. This is to evaluate the farm operations, background and achievements, and their performance.
The consolidated results of written examination, interview and field validation will be the basis for determining the final ranking of the nominees to complete the two slots from Caraga region. The interns will undergo a Pre-Departure Orientation Course (PDOC) to prepare them for their 11-month internship which is scheduled for June 2021.
The internship is a partnership between the Department of Agriculture, Manila Economic and Cultural Office and Taipei Economic and Cultural Office which aims to develop young farmers to become farmer leaders and empowered agricultural entrepreneurs.
