BUTUAN CITY-The Regional Technical Working Committee of the Techno Gabay Program (TGP) will conduct a one-day evaluation in La Paz, Agusan del Sur on March 2, 2021.
The Local Government Unit (LGU) of La Paz established their own Farmers’ Information and Technology Services (FITS) Center in the previous year. This is to cater farmers and fishers in their locality to have easy access on the updates and information on agricultural technologies through Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials and other various media.
Moreover, the RTWC comprised the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) 13, Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) 13, Commission on Higher Education (CHED) 13 and Caraga State University (CSU).
The committee will evaluate the LGU’s FITS Center based on the requirements needed as criteria for passing as one. They will also conduct interviews to the farmer-nominees as Magsasaka Siyentista (MS) for the said FITS Center. Municipal Agriculturist Teofilo Ferolin, Sr. endorses four MS nominees subject for evaluation. They are as follows, Nilo Sistoso, Gomerzendo Zaroras, Consolacion Milan and Rommel Geretape.
The said activity is under the Executive Order 801 “Encouraging Local Government Units (LGUs) to Adopt Techno Gabay in their Agricultural Extension Programs and Concerned Government Agencies to Provide Required Assistance for the Purpose”.
