LORETO, Agusan del Sur- The Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) 13 launched the first Farmers’ Information and Technology Services (FITS) Center at Perez Farm based in Brgy. Poblacion, Loreto, Agusan del Sur on February 17, 2021.
Mr. Lucio Perez is the owner of the said farm. He is one of the Learning Site Cooperators of the ATI-Caraga and a Magsasaka Siyentista of the Local Government Unit (LGU)-Loreto FITS Center. Mr. Perez expressed his profound gratitude to the ATI for granting his request in establishing a FITS Kiosk in his own farm.
“I really thanked ATI-Caraga for giving this opportunity of having a FITS kiosk, through this, I can now invite my co-farmers specifically my neighbors to learn more by reading Information Education and Communication (IEC) materials with regards to farming that were displayed in the kiosk.” Perez added during the program.
The said launching activity was joined by the Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) of the said municipality headed by Municipal Administrator Samson S. Ramilo who also used to be the OIC Municipal Agriculturist.
Moreover, OIC MA Ramilo showed his support to the said FITS kiosk by ensuring Perez to provide financial assistance for the improvement of his function hall.
Ribbon-cutting was graced by the OIC MA himself together with Fil Victor Babanto, Information Officer III of ATI-Caraga and Lucio Perez.
The establishment of FITS Kiosk is another platform of the ATI used under the Techno Gabay Program (TGP) to reach and serve more farmers, extension workers, youth and students in accessing updated agricultural technologies information through IEC materials and a lot more.
