Rice Crop Manager (RCM) intensified

TAGAYTAY CITY, Cavite – To get feedback, review the progress and performance, the implementers of Rice Crop Manager (RCM) recently gathered for the 1st National Updating and Planning Workshop for 2018. It was organized by the Department of Agriculture (DA) and International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) last March 6-9, 2018.

The Rice Crop Manager or the RCM app was developed by the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) for the Philippines. RCM can be used through desktop computers and smartphones aiming to contribute to the implementation of appropriate ‘modern precision farming’ by providing farmers with personalized crop and nutrient management recommendations matching their location-specific rice-growing conditions.

The participants of the said activity were the Regional Field Office (RFO) RCM focal persons, representative from DA-RFOs, Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Division (PMED), representative from Research Division and ATI-RTCs RCM Focal persons.

The activity aims to assess 2017 RCM performance, review targets and plans for 2018, and discuss the RCM transition phase. In general, the said workshop indeed a successful one.
