Kapatid Agri Mentor Me Program (KAMMP) online Launched on Wednesday, October 21, 2020.
LOS ANGELES, Butuan City – The Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center 13 in partnership with the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship Go Negosyo successfully launched the Kapatid Agri Mentor Me Program (KAMMP) online on Wednesday, October 21, 2020.
Over 50 mentees composed of Learning Site cooperators, officers of farmers, irrigators associations, agri-cooperatives, youth and aspiring agripreneurs took part in the program which aimed to nurture and scale-up agribusiness in the country through mentorship.
In his message, ATI-RTC 13 Center Director Samuel L. Calonzo encouraged the mentees to endure the challenges of learning through an online platform up to the last session.
ATI Deputy Director Dr. Rosana P. Mula emphasized the need to go beyond production and invest into value-adding and entrepreneurship. She added that Go Negosyo’s experience and expertise in the field of entrepreneurial development will help the potential agripreneurs improve their businesses. In a video message, Department of Agriculture Secretary William D. Dar mentioned that with Go Negosyo’s leadership in agripreneurship, we could give a proper nurturing environment supportive to institutionalizing agripreneurship in the system.
Aboitiz Vice President and Go Negosyo Agripreneurship & Mindanao Program Senior Adviser Ginggay Hontiveros-Malvar encouraged the mentees to focus and take advantage of this opportunity for them to become better leaders and be more skillful in running their own agribusinesses.
Abegail Famadico of Go Negosyo discussed the objectives of KAMMP which include the provision of platform for existing and aspiring agripreneurs to learn and be inspired by the entrepreneurial journey of the mentors online. It also serves as channel for capacity building on an online platform using the KAMMP modules and equip the agripreneurs with practical knowledge and strategies that will help in expanding their businesses through lecture sessions. She also presented the nine modules covered by the program which include among others Entrepreneurial Mind-Setting and Values Formation, Business Model Canvas, and Digital Marketing. Famadico emphasized that at the end of the program, mentees are expected to write and present a Business Improvement Plan as final output.
KAMMP Online will run for seven weeks with two-days per week sessions, every Tuesdays and Thursdays starting October 22, 2020 via Zoom. The regional KAMMP team of Caraga is manned by Point Person/MPS II Mary Grace B. Salve, Technical Director/ISS Chief Fil Victor A. Babanto, and Development Management Officer II Paula Mae A. Creencia.
