LOS ANGELES, Butuan City – With the approval and notarization of the Scholarship Service Contracts of the grantees of the Educational Assistance for the Youth in Agriculture (EAsY Agri) of the Agricultural Training Institute, the ATI-Regional Training Center 13 has facilitated for the release of financial support to the grantees.

However, due to the alarming increase of COVID-19 cases and local transmissions, various Local Government Units (LGUs) have heightened their quarantine protocols to control its spread. In effect, the EAsY Agri grantees were restricted from personally claiming their financial support at the center.

Understanding the urgency and necessity on the part of the students, the ATI decided to cross provincial borders to personally hand-in the checks to the grantees through the Scholarship Point Person Mary Grace B. Salve.

The 14 grantees received their monthly stipend amounting Php 5,000.00, lodging allowance of Php1,000.00 per month, and semestral book allowance amounting Php3,500.00.

They were grouped into two wherein Cluster 1 comprised of grantees from Agusan del Sur and Surigao del Sur areas who received their checks on October 13, 2020 while Cluster 2 composed of Surigao del Norte and Province of Dinagat Islands received their checks on October 14, 2020 at the municipal checkpoint of Alegria, the provincial border of Agusan del Norte and Surigao del Norte.

For their convenience, the grantees were advised to open a personal savings account at LBP for easier transfer of their financial support.

The grantees extended their gratitude to the program through ATI for the aid they have received to pay for their expenses particularly on ensuring a stable internet connectivity as they are adjusting to the new normal system of education.
