BUTUAN CITY – In view of the new teaching-learning modes under the new normal, the Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center 13 encouraged the grantees of the Educational Assistance for the Youth in Agriculture (EAsY Agri) to maximize their free time for various educational opportunities.
As agreed during the virtual assessment, the 14 EAsY Agri grantees who are currently enrolled in agri-related courses and BioSystems Engineering were advised to enroll and complete at least 2 online courses per month offered under ATI’s e-Learning program. As a starter, they are encouraged to prioritize the online courses developed by ATI – Caraga which include Managing Common Diseases in Banana (Banana 1), Integrated Pest Management for Banana (Banana 2), Growing Banana in the Tropics: Cultural Management Practices for Banana (Banana 3), and Gold in Grains: Cultural Management for Soybean.
Information Services Section Chief/KM Coordinator Fil Victor A. Babanto mentioned that it is high time for them to utilize the stay home protocols brought about by the pandemic in accessing information and gain additional knowledge and skills in agricultural technologies delivered via the internet. As an e-learning administrator, Babanto assisted the grantees in all e-learning related concerns.
The e-Learning for Agriculture and Fisheries is a major component of the Philippine's Department of Agriculture's e-Extension Program, with the Agricultural Training Institute as the lead implementing agency, in collaboration with other government agencies, state universities and colleges and non-government organizations.
