BUTUAN CITY – The Scholarship Committee of ATI-Regional Training Center 13 conducted the pre-screening and table evaluation of the applications for the educational assistance for the youth (EAsY AGRI) last June 5, 2020.
The 71 applicants were from the Province of Dinagat Islands (23), Surigao del Norte (38), Agusan del Norte (1), Agusan del Sur (2), and Surigao del Sur (7). As agreed during the meeting last May 20, the committee required the applicants to submit Category A documents which include Accomplished Application Form, Certification from Municipal Agriculturist, Tax Exemption Certificate, Birth Certificate, High School Diploma, School Card, and Certification of Good Moral Character. The submission of the remaining documents will be adjusted based on travel restriction protocols and SUC schedules of examination and release of results.
Based on the results, 51 applicants will proceed to the second round of screening and further evaluation, interview and examination which is scheduled on June 24-30, 2020. Those with lacking documents were notified and are given until June 19, 2020 to comply. The committee is expected to complete the evaluation process and filling up of the 14 scholarship slots by the second week of July.
The overwhelming number of applications received is a manifestation that more youth are gaining interest in agriculture.
Center Director Samuel L. Calonzo also conveyed his gratitude to the Provincial and Municipal Agriculture Offices for their assistance and support to this undertaking.
