Engr. Matt Andrew G. Baquiano presents the Organic Agriculture Program Roadmap in the context of extension during the meeting on February 27, 2020.
BUTUAN CITY- Forty-three (43) participants comprising agricultural extension workers (AEWs) from the five provinces in Region 13 attended in the Regional Consultation and Planning Workshop on Organic Agriculture on February 27, 2020.
This was hosted by the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) 13 under the OA Program of the institute.
It aims to harmonize issues and concerns relative to the implementation of organic agriculture (OA) program and other extension activities. It is also purposely done to determine the need-based training among farmers and other stakeholders in the region.
Most of the attendees were the provincial, city and municipal OA Program Coordinators. They are expected to mainstream the OAP training and related activities into the local government units' (LGUs) plans and programs for the year.
Samuel L. Calonzo, Center Director of ATI-Caraga graced the said activity. He emphasized the harmonization of the OAP activities in line with the eight (8) Paradigms of Agriculture by Sec. William Dar to level up the Agriculture.
Meanwhile, Rodulfo Domingo Jr., DA-Caraga staff presented the Regional OAP Thrust and Priorities Roadmap 2018-2022. On the other hand, Elena P. Madelo presented the targets of the said program along with its intervention for 2020 as well as the plans and programs for 2021.
Moreover, Engr. Matt Andrew G. Baquiano presented the OAP Roadmap in the context of extension. This was followed with a Planning Workshop for 2022-2013 as well as the action planning.
