ATI Caraga holds Planning Workshop and Team-building Activities for RCM enhanced FITS Centers

The RCM Info Support Implementation, Assessment, Planning WS: 2nd day comprised of Team Building activities purposely to Enhance communication and teamwork among the participants.

SAN AGUSTIN, Surigao del Sur- the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) 13 successfully conducted the Information Support to Rice Crop Manager (RCM) Implementation (Assessment, Planning WS for 2022 Target Setting) and Team-Building in Alameda Farm, Gata, San Agustin, Surigao del Sur on October 19-22, 2021.

It aimed to ensure the smooth and harmonized implementation of Rice Crop Manager (RCM) deployment during the health crisis and the setting of targets for the year 2022. The workshop comprised of team-building activities for the participants to increase trust, improve communication, increase collaboration and maintain motivation among stakeholders.

Participants were composed of staff from selected Enhanced Farmers Information Technology Services (FITS) Centers and staff from the Information Services Section (ISS) of the Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) XIII.

Fil Victor A. Babanto, ISS Chief, stressed the importance of coming up with effective strategies to promote the advantages of following the RCM fertilizer recommendation of farmers in their rice fields. He also encouraged the participants to demystify/familiarize the RCM 4.0 rebuild and assess RCM accomplishment for the year 2021 and set targets for 2022.

Some of the FITS staff were able to share their best practices, strategies, and problems met during the implementation phase. Issues were reflected in their action plans.

The team-building activities allowed participants to have a great time together, work with each other’s strengths and weaknesses, improve productivity and motivation, and break down work and personal barriers, eliminate distractions while having fun. The Resource Person for the 1-day team building activity was Novalil H. Tubo and France Berry E. Labrador, Social Welfare Officer from City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWD) of Cabadbaran City.

Five outstanding FITS Centers who performed well and met their targets in 2021 despite the Covid-19 pandemic were given cash prizes. They were: FITS – San Agustin, Surigao del Sur; FITS - San Francisco, Agusan del Sur; FITS - Cantilan, Surigao del Sur; FITS – Esperanza, Agusan del Sur; and FITS – Buenavista, Agusan del Norte.

The group also visited the farm of Jessico John B. Campos, Magsasaka Siyentista from San Agustin, Surigao del Sur to gain new insights and best practices in farming that may be replicated in the LGUs.
