Two LSA Cooperators establish FITS Kiosks in Caraga

BRGY. LOS ANGELES, Butuan City- Mr. Lucio Perez, owner of Perez farm is a Learning Site for Agriculture (LSA) Cooperator and a Magsasaka Siyentista (MS) of LGU-Loreto, Agusan del Sur Farmers’ Information and Technology Services (FITS) Center. On the other hand, Mrs. Violeta Alegado is also a LSA Cooperator of the ATI- Caraga and a Magsasaka Siyentista of the LGU-Buenavista, Agusan del Norte FITS center.

Moreover, these two (2) farmer-leaders willingly allot space in their farm area and establish a FITS kiosk wherein Information Education and Communication (IEC) materials, books and other reading materials related to farming will be displayed. In here, farmers from the neighboring communities will be informed and get updated whenever they would visit the farm.

As a Learning Site, the farm of Mr. Perez and Mrs. Alegado is always open to visitors and other agri-enthusiasts from other provinces or regions.

They were interviewed by the ATI-Caraga evaluating team on December 2 and 4, 2020, respectively. Said evaluation was headed by Fil Victor Babanto, Chief of the Information Services Section (ISS). Along with him are Jason Paul Dads Jampac, Ginalyn Arbutante and Ressell Angelie Fetalsana all from ATI-Caraga ISS.

Staff from the Municipal Agriculture Office of Loreto, Agusan del Sur assisted in the said evaluation on the date stated above.
