SAN LUIS, Agusan del Sur – Twenty-two (22) farmers from San Luis completed the Farmers’ Field School (FFS) on Cacao Production. The said activity ran from April 25 to October 17, 2018 with a total of 16 sessions.
The purpose of the FFS is to empower farmers with knowledge and skills to make them experts in the field, be able to make critical and informed decisions in order to achieve a profitable and sustainable farm, sensitized with new ways of thinking and problem solving, and be able to organize themselves and their communities.
Participants learned about soil and climatic requirement, nursery establishment, cultural management, pest and diseases management, harvesting, climate change, farm management and establishment.
