CARAGA REGION – With its aim to assess the status of the Climate Information System (CIS)-enhanced Farmers Information Technology Services (FITS) and Magsasaka Siyentista (MS) in delivering climate information and technologies, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) – Central Office conducted a monitoring activity on Sept. 2-4, 2019.
The following Local Government Unit FITS Centers were assessed: Butuan City; Buenavista, Agusan del Norte; San Agustin and Cagwait, Surigao del Sur; Surigao City; and Esperanza, Agusan del Sur.
On the other hand, project site visitation and interview were done to these Magsasakang Siyentistas who received support: Benedicto P. Becerro – Gigaquit, Surigao del Norte; Jaime Pelorina – Butuan City; Felipe Pagador – Carmen, Agusan del Norte; Willy Acero – San Francisco, Agusan del Sur; Jean Ruth Silva; Nestor Tejada – Esperanza, Agusan del Sur; and Clarence Fraga – Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.
This enabled the Institute to collect insights, suggestions, needs and other important facts that would help in the planning and conduct of accurate and timely agricultural extension services especially in climate-related activities.
Said activity was assisted by staff of ATI – Regional Training Center 13.
