FITS Center launched in Madrid, SDS

MADRID, Surigao del Sur- The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Madrid, Surigao del Sur has finally launched its Farmers’ Information and Technology Services (FITS) Center on September 14, 2020 at Brgy. Linibunan, Madrid.

Said launching was graced by Hon. Mayor Mary Grace Kimura with the presence of Provincial and Municipal Agriculturists Marcos M. Quico and Theresa M. Ilogon. On the other hand, Fil Victor Babanto, Information Officer III of the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) 13 also joined in. He presented the overview of the Techno Gabay Program (TGP) along with its four components during the program.

Moreover, Dr. Baceledes R. Estal, President of Surigao del Sur State University (SDSSU) also participated in the launching activity. He showed his support to the said FITS center by telling them that the University’s faculty and staff is always open for a partnership especially in the development of Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials.

The launching of FITS Center was simultaneously conducted with the briefing and deployment of Rice Crop Manager (RCM). Rice farmers from different barangays of the said locality attended in a one-day activity.
