BUTUAN CITY - In preparation for their departure on October 14, 2021, the 19 trainees for the Young Filipino Farm Leaders Training Program in Japan (YFFLTPJ) Batch 2021 attended the Pre-Departure Orientation Course (PDOC).
During the briefing and opening program of the PDOC last September 8, 2021, Ms. Mary Joy Hilot mentioned that the PDOC will employ the participatory, experiential and responsive learning approach via online platform. She emphasized the need for the trainees to comply with the learning tasks and write their reflections on the day-to-day activities in Nihongo to enhance their communication skills. She enumerated that the lessons will focus on Nihongo language, basic Japanese culture and customs, as well as the Philippine culture, customs and traditions.
In her message, OIC-Deputy Director Antonieta J. Arceo encouraged the trainees to adopt and share whatever learnings, new technologies and practices that they will gain from the program. She also hoped that the trainees will soon become successful agriprenuers in the future so they can be able to influence other youth to venture into agriculture.
Mr. Ken Orlando R. Aclo of Cagniog, Surigao City, the sole trainee from Caraga region will join the other young farmers from all over the country in the online PDOC which will run until September 30, 2021.
After the PDOC, the trainees will still have to undergo a final evaluation process and medical examination to conclude their acceptance to the program.
