TUNGAO, Butuan City – In support to the livestock and agribusiness industry in the country, the Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) XIII conducted the Training on Feed Production Enterprise Development on August 25-27, 2021 at CountryFields Agri Farm.
The training generally aims to enhance the skills of the participants on feed production. Further, participants were able to acquire knowledge on the importance of animal nutrition, familiarize the importance of feed analysis and its process, acquire knowledge and skills during workshop on feed formulation, formulate their own feed formula, identify different types of feeds, feedstuffs and ingredients, and perform hands-on production of feeds.
It was participated by 19 individuals composed of 13 agricultural extension worker (AEWs) and three farmers from Agusan del Sur and Surigao del Sur. They were able to prepare re-entry plan and formulated different kinds of feeds.
Olegario B. Ayensa Jr., Learning Site for Agriculture (LSA) Cooperator and manager of CountryFields Farm, was the resource person for the topics on best practices for free range chicken, livestock diversification, and feed formulation.
This said activity was conducted in support to the National Livestock Program (NLP) with Florita G. Lozada, Development Management Officer I of ATI-RTC XIII, as project officer.
