DA-Caraga promotes mushroom products through DMLRRS

Some of the processed mushroom products developed by the DA-Caraga through its Research Station based at Del Monte, Talacogon, Agusan del Sur.

BUTUAN CITY- “The Department of Agriculture -Regional Field Office 13 continues its promotion on mushroom production and processing mushroom products in the region.”

This was uttered by Anecita Troza, Science Research Assistant of DA-Caraga assigned in the Del Monte Lowland Rainfed Research Station (DMLRRS). The said Research Station is based at Brgy. Del Monte, Talacogon, Agusan del Sur.

Ms. Troza served as the Resource Person of the webinar’s 4th episode on August 28, 2020. She taught online participants various products that can be processed out of mushroom via google meet. Online learners were able to grasp the importance and benefits of mushroom to one’s health.

Moreover, mushroom meals such as lumpia, bola-bola and mushroom ginataan were presented by Troza during the webinar. Participants also learned how to utilize mushroom into crackers. On the other hand, procedures in making mushroom candies, macaroons, hopia, burquillos and polvoron were highlighted by the Resource Person during the webinar.

According to Troza, the DA-Caraga headed by Executive Director Abel James I. Monteagudo prioritizes its promotion in processing mushroom products specifically into macaroons.

The said webinar is hosted by the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) 13 under the i-BIDA nATIn program webinar series season 3. Airing every Friday, 9:00-10:00 o’clock in the morning until October, 2020.
