Representatives of Municipal Agriculture Office of Cagwait, Surigao del Sur, one of the four recipients of Artificial Insemination (AI) sa Barangay Project, receives their supplies, materials, and equipment from ATI-RTC XIII on August 19, 2020.
LOS ANGELES, Butuan City – In support to the National Livestock Program, the Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) XIII under the Artificial Insemination (AI) sa Barangay Project will give materials and equipment to four recipients.
This aims to produce good quality of semen to upgrade and increase the population of swine in Caraga Region in support to the National Livestock Program.
The support is from the ATI - International Training Center on Pig Husbandry (ITCPH) which includes one unit of water bath, one unit of dummy sow, beaker, collecting cups, catheters, semen bottles, glass slides, transparent coverslips, digital laboratory thermometer, monocular microscope, dryer/sterilizer, semen refrigerator, spermiodensimeter/ photometer measure sperm concentration, and semen transport box.
Moreover, each beneficiary will also receive two boars with a condition of having an AI laboratory and boar pen as counterpart.
Recipients were determined through a set of requirements including their letter of intent and endorsement from the Municipal Agriculture Office and Local Government Unit. Evaluation will then follow to be conducted by ATI-RTC XIII headed by Florita G. Lozada, Livestock Point Person.
Two recipients were already identified. They are Sogbohan Agri Training Institute (SATI) Inc. Farm located in Purok 3, Sogbohan Islet, Bagumbayan, Dinagat, Province of Dinagat Islands and the Municipal Agriculture Office of Cagwait, Surigao del Sur.
