RAFEN member agencies convene for the 1st semester meeting

LOS ANGELES, Butuan City – True to its mandate of harmonizing the agriculture and fishery extension system in the region, the Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center 13 conducted the first semester meeting of the Regional Agriculture and Fishery Extension Network (RAFEN) yesterday.

OIC Center Director Samuel L. Calonzo acknowledged the participants from the line agencies of the Department of Agriculture, Provincial Veterinary Offices, State Universities and Colleges, and accredited Extension Service Providers. He hoped for the continued support to all AFEN-related activities as a major partnership mechanism towards a strengthened extension delivery system.

During the meeting, Ms. Teresita O. Alagenio, Director of Extension Services of the Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology (ASSCAT) suggested having permanent and alternative representatives of the RAFEN member agencies.

The meeting also provided updates on RAFEN member agencies’ extension interventions and programs. It also opened additional potential areas of collaboration among members.
