Free forage seeds of Callandra, Rensonii, Flemengia, and Indigofera is currently available at ATI-RTC 13 for interested livestock and poultry raisers within Caraga Region.
BRGY. LOS ANGELES, Butuan City – In support to the National Livestock Program’s thrust to continuously support the animal industry in the country amid the Covid-19 pandemic, the Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) XIII is giving free forage seeds to livestock and poultry raisers in Caraga region.
These forage seeds are Callandra, Rensonii, Flemengia, and Indigofera. These forages are important in achieving the production targets of livestock and poultry animals for food and fiber which contribute to its growth and weight gain.
Some of these plants are rich in nutrients such as protein, phosphorus, energy and carotene. They also help in maintaining ground cover, preventing soil erosion, accumulating nitrogen present in the soil and nourishing the land.
Interested individuals who want to avail such seeds are welcome to visit ATI 13 located at Los Angeles, Butuan City.
Further, seeds were also given to Provincial Veterinary Offices for ease of access due to travel limitations imposed by the Local Government Units (LGUs) in the region.
