Senior High School students enlists themselves as official enrollees of SOA on Swine Production.
BALANGBALANG, RTRomualdez – The Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) 13, Local Government Unit (LGU) – RTRomualdez and Balangbalang National High School (BNHS) have conjoined to reinforce the provision of practical knowledge on agricultural crop production to the Senior High School students. This is through the School-on-the-Air (SOA) program on Swine Production which is conducted by the ATI-RTC 13 in cooperation with the Provincial Veterinary Office and LGUs in Agusan del Norte.
Principal II Rolando A. Lauro is grateful for the initiative of the Municipal Agriculture Office through its Municipal Agriculturist Maria Nenita A. Daohog in allowing their Senior High School Students to be part of the School-on-Air (SOA) program on Swine Production. The 36 grade 11 students were officially enlisted as SOA enrollees during the launching of the SOA in BNHS last July 25, 2019. Lauro added that as a newly opened Senior High School, BalangBalang highly needs technical support and interventions from different government agencies to strengthen the Technical and Livelihood Education particularly on Agricultural Crop Production.
Canned episodes were provided through the TLE Teacher Arnel H. Catalan for them to cope with the lessons covered by the program. Catalan said that other than formal classes, he intends to expose his students to learning alternatives such as SOA, learning site visits and hands-on exercises to hone their potentials as young agriculturists in the future.
ATI MPS II Mary Grace B. Salve briefed the students on the objectives and mechanics of the SOA program as well as the e-learning program that are also available for the students.
The SOA program commenced last May 17, 2019 over DXMT 101.5 Mark FM, Cabadbaran City.
