Municipal coordinators share their issues on the implementation of School-on-the-Air on Cacao Production dubbed as Asenso ‘Kaw sa Kakaw during its mid-assessment on July 21, 2021.
PATIN-AY, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur – After nine episodes since its first airing last May 20, the Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center XIII led the mid-assessment of the Asenso ‘Kaw sa Kakaw: School-on-the-Air (SOA) on Cacao Production together with the provincial and municipal coordinators on July 21, 2021.
The said activity, done in partnership with the Provincial Agriculture and Veterinary Office of Agusan del Sur, was attended by nine out of 14 participating Local Government Units (LGUs) of Agusan del Sur. The agenda includes updates on enrollment forms, pretest results, resource information sheet, special orders; issues and concerns per LGU and PAVO; hands-on activity; mass graduation/graduation-on-air/starter kits; polo shirt; and post-assessment schedule.
Coordinators were able to raise their issues faced during their pre-evaluation with the enrollees. Some of their concerns were enrollees listenership during the live airing, resource person’s pacing during lecture, and limitations on travel due to Covid-19 pandemic. After discussion, strategies and other agreements were done. For better understanding, at the same time lessen enrollees confusion on topics discussed, coordinators agreed to do focus group discussion during their visits.
Moreover, the group also discussed possible activities to be done during the post-assessment and graduation.
The SOA on Cacao Production can be heard over 93.5 FM Hope Radio Philippines Butuan every Thursday at 5:00-6:00 in the morning. Anchorperson is farmcaster Joel Corvera from PAVO. It is implemented by the Information Services Section of ATI-RTC XIII with Ressell Angelie Fetalsana as project officer.
