Fil Victor A. Babanto, Chief of the Information Services Section (ISS) of the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) 13 served as the Project Officer and Resource Person during the third batch of the Digital Farmers Program 101 in Surigao City on July 7-8, 2021.
SURIGAO CITY- Farmers and youth joined hand in hand during the conduct of the Digital Farmers Program (DFP) 101 in Surigao City on July 7-8, 2021.
This training aimed at equipping farmers to be digitally competitive by utilizing their smartphones and by accessing the internet as well as discovering different agricultural applications at hand.
This was attended by 10 farmers and 10 youth. A pairing of farmer and youth is the best strategy used during the training which made it a successful one. Participants really enjoyed in the hands-on activities. In here, the youth is responsible to assist their partner-farmer in navigating their smartphones.

ISS Chief Babanto and his staff Ginalyn V. Arbutante served as Resource Persons during the DFP 101 training. Topics on Smartphone 101, Accessing the Internet, Agri Apps and Social Media Marketing were delivered within the two-day training.
Moreover, City Rice Coordinator Sandra Desoloc, and Ailyn Maisog from the City Agriculture Office of Surigao assisted in the facilitation during the training proper.
The Training Management Team comprising Babanto, Arbutante, Ressel Angelie S. Fetalsana and Kent Marthy Anore is thankful to the active presence of the youth and farmers from different barangays of Surigao City. The Team also recognized the effort of the Local Government Unit of Surigao through the City Agriculture Office for the unceasing support of the ATI-RTC programs.
