BRGY. LOS ANGELES, Butuan City- A total of twenty-six (26) Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) participated in the Training of Trainers (TOT) for Rice Crop Manager Advisory Service (RAS). The recently held training was conducted at the Golden Tara Hall of the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center (ATI-RT) 13 based in Brgy. Los Angeles, Butuan City on July 27-30, 2021.
Different Local Government Units of Region 13 through their City and Municipal Agriculture Offices showed their support to ATI-RTC 13 by sending their AEWs to attend in the training.

Said TOT is aimed at enhancing the knowledge of participants and capacitating them to operate, use and train others on the upgraded RCM Advisory Service. At the end of the four-day training, participants are expected to operate the RCM Training Registration and register at the same time verify the account in the RCM Training Registration. Operating the latest version of RCM online and offline mode as well as printing the one-page RCM recommendations generated from a farmer interview are also expected from them among others.

Moreover, AEWs were able to perform their assigned tasks particularly on measuring the rice field area during the hands-on activity on the third day. The group went to Brgy. Bonbon in Butuan City and measure the farmers’ fields, interview them and generated various fertilizer recommendations. They were able to explain the generated one to the farmers afterward.

This is funded under the Rice Program of the Department of Agriculture-ATI. Gerlie Antipaso and Reynan P. Mamalis from DA-Regional Field Office 13 served as Resource Persons during the training.

Through a successful facilitation of the Information Services Section (ISS) headed by Section Chief Fil Victor A. Babanto, the TOT ended smoothly with the participants’ satisfied hearts. Inspired to share and apply their knowledge gained to their respective locality.
