Mr. Fil Victor A. Babanto of ATI-RTC 13 talks on e-Extension program of the Institute during the briefing conducted in LANHS.
LOS ANGELES, Butuan City – Cultivating the younger generation to appreciate agriculture, the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) 13 thru the Information Services Section conducted an orientation on the e-Extension programs for Senior High School Students of Los Angeles National High School (LANHS) on July 23, 2019.
Mr. Fil Victor A. Babanto, e-Extension Coordinator of ATI-Caraga discussed the background of e-extension program emphasizing the operation of the website. He explained the benefits of accessing the online platform while highlighting the program component such as: e-Farming, e-Trading and e-Learning in which registered users can access and enroll to different agriculture related courses for free.
e-Learning currently offers 60 courses on crops, fisheries, social technology, sustainable agriculture, and livestock and poultry which are accessible using computers, laptops, tablets, or any mobile device with internet connection.
The e-Extension program maximizes the use of information and communication technology to attain modernized agriculture and fisheries sector. Furthermore, the program focuses on creating an electronic and interactive bridge where farmers, fishers, agricultural extension workers, students and other stakeholders expand their learning at any time, any pace and any place. Aside from e-Extension program, a briefer about the ATI was also presented.
The briefing activity was attended by 124 senior high school students and 5 faculty staff of LANHS. LANHS is one of the schools offering agriculture and fishery courses in Caraga Region.
