ATI 13 orients NEMA Senior High Students

LOS ANGELES, Butuan City – Advancing with its goal to promote agriculture to the various sectors in the community, the Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) 13 responded to the request for an orientation on Calamansi care and production of Northeastern Mindanao Academy (NEMA) Grade 11 Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) strand on July 30, 2019.

Said request was acted upon by the Partnership and Accreditation Services Section (PASS) headed by Heracleo A. Paler, Senior Agriculturist, who discussed a brief background of ‘calamansi’, its uses, production and cultural management. He also explained the role of ATI in agricultural development as the training arm of the Department of Agriculture. A demonstration on marcotting the crop then followed.

Moreover, the activity will be an input of the students’ research study on how cellphone radiation can affect the growth of grafted ‘calamansi’ and its production.
