BRGY. LEMON, Butuan City – The Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center 13 took part in the kick-off activities for the upcoming conduct of the 11th National Rice Techno Forum in October 2020.
The Department of Agriculture – Caraga region in collaboration with the Rice Productivity Advocacy Incorporated (Rice Board) and the Local Government Unit of Butuan conducted the Launching of the 11th National Rice Techno Forum cum Ceremonial Planting last July 21, 2020. The activity showcases the promotion of hybrid rice production in the region as outlined on its theme “Increasing rice productivity towards farmers’ prosperity, Caraga mag-hybrid na ta!”
The activity started with a motorcade from the DA office to Barangay Lemon where the ceremonial planting commenced. Lemon is one of the sites for the establishment of a 100-hectare compact technology demonstration showcasing the latest technologies in seeds through the use of hybrid rice varieties and planting techniques to increase productivity. The demo sites will also be established at barangays Ampayon and Basag.
Said event was graced by DA Caraga Regional Executive Director Abel James I. Monteagudo, Butuan City Administrator Reynante B. Desiata, PhilRice Agusan Branch Director Dr. Caesar Joventino M. Tado, National Irrigation Administration Regional Manager Madante P. Ganotisi.
The representatives from ATI-RTC 13 was headed by OIC Chief of the Career Development and Management Services Section/Rice Point Person Violeta T. Laguna.
