Members of the Regional Technical Working Committee of the Techno Gabay Program evaluate the newly-established FITS center in Talacogon, Agusan del Sur on July 21, 2020.
TALACOGON, Agusan del Sur – Members of the Regional Technical Working Committee (RTWC) of the Techno Gabay Program (TGP) recently conducted an evaluation of the newly-established Farmers’ Information and Technology Services (FITS) Center in Talacogon, Agusan del Sur on July 21, 2020.
The said evaluation was headed by Fil Victor A. Babanto, Chief of the Information Services Section (ISS) of the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) 13 together with Ginalyn V. Arbutante. This was also joined by Rodel Pasion as Partner-Agency Focal Person from Caraga State University (CSU).
Two farmers from the said municipality were also interviewed by the RTWC as nominees for the Magsasaka Siyentista (MS) who will support the FITS center. Babanto explained to them the roles and responsibilities of MS that must be performed by the qualified one.
On the other hand, Mayor Pauline Masendo of Talacogon visited the FITS center right after the evaluation. She showed her utmost support to the Municipal Agriculture Office’s endeavor through the FITS center. This is to cater needs of agricultural technology information and other extension services to the farmers, fishers, students, Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) and other stakeholders.
Members of the TGP RTWC comprised with the State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) within Caraga region as partner agencies such as CSU, Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology (ASSCAT), Surigao del Norte College of Agriculture and Technology (SNCAT), and Surigao del Sur State University (SDSSU). Also with the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the Agricultural Training Institute- Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) 13.
