ATI conducts five provincial consultations in Caraga

LOS ANGELES, Butuan City- With an aim of harmonizing programs among extension service providers of the Department of Agriculture (DA) and determining the needed trainings among stakeholders, the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) 13 conducted the provincial consultations and planning workshops on July 9-17, 2019.

The said consultations and workshops were conducted in the provinces of Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur and in the province of Dinagat Islands just this month.

The series of activities were attended by the Provincial Agriculturists (PAs), Municipal Agriculturists (MAs) and Planning Officers as participants. Partner-Agencies such as Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA), and Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC) also joined in together with the representatives from the DA-RFO 13.

The target trainings for FY 2020 were presented by the focal persons of the four (4) banner programs of the DA, namely Livestock, Corn, Rice, Organic Agriculture and High Value Crops Development Program (HVCDP).

PA Marcos M. Quico expressed his profound gratitude to ATI for having such activity to harmonize training schedules specifically with the DA-Regional Field Office (RFO) 13. Quico appreciated the initiatives extended by the Institute. He also cited some issues on agriculture during the Provincial Consultation for FY 2020 Program Implementation and Agri-Fishery Needs Planning Workshop for FY 2021 which was held on July 11, 2019 at Selades Apartelle, Tandag City.

Ms. Nena Lomuntad, Planning Officer II of ATI served as the Project Officer together with the other ATI-RTC 13 staff.
