LOS ANGELES, Butuan City – Taking its leap of faith in the production of strawberry amidst the tropical weather of Butuan City, the Modified Indigenous Garden of Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) XIII is now selling strawberry runners to agriculture enthusiasts in the region.

Originally, the group focuses on the planting of indigenous vegetables and herbs using materials that are commonly found in urban and rural areas. However, during the group’s visit to Robrosa’s Strawberry and Herbs Farm, a Learning Site for Agriculture (LSA) accredited by ATI-RTC XIII located at Sitio Tagkiling, Brgy. Anticala, Butuan City, members were inspired and decided to incorporate strawberry production in the garden hence the integration of the word “modified” in its name.

Aside from strawberries, vegetables and herbs were also planted specifically lettuce, pechay, mustasa, upo, raddish, onion leaves, cherry tomato, and stevia.

As of now, the group is taking orders depending on the available supply due to high demand from individuals who are also interested in growing strawberries. Buyers are encouraged to visit the garden personally to be able to get information and tips on how to grow them.

Other garden groups featured by ATI-RTC XIII are vertical gardening, containerized gardening, and modern technology gardening.
