LSA Cooperator Ragas talks “Delicious Solanaceous" on i-BIDA nATIn Program

Rube Ragas talks about solanaceous vegetables during the 2nd episode of the i-BIDA nATIn Program of the ATI-Caraga on July 3, 2020.

BRGY. LOS ANGELES, Butuan City- With the on-going webinar of the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) 13, the i-BIDA nATIn Program reaches its second episode under the Season II of the Program. This Season covers vegetable gardening, specifically on the production and management side.
Recently, Mr. Ruben Ragas discussed Solanaceous vegetables on July 3, 2020 during the second episode of the “i-BIDA nATIn” Program: Webinar on Vegetable Gardening Season II. Ragas is also a Magsasaka Siyentista and a Learning Site for Agriculture Cooperator in Cabadbaran City.

The second episode was joined by more than 100 online participants coming from different provinces of Region 13. Other participants viewed from Visayas and Luzon part of the Philippines and abroad.

On the other hand, several queries were raised right after the lecture of Ragas. Fortunately, he answered those questions diligently and smoothly according to his own farming experience. He was able to share his farming best practices to the viewers especially in terms of vegetable production.

The 2nd episode topic includes the importance and benefits of producing solanaceous vegetables, its identification, application of organic and inorganic fertilizers, pest and diseases management and its harvesting stage.

The webinar is a new platform that was used by the Institute in lieu of the face-to-face trainings which were basically handled and conducted by ATI before the threat of COVID-19 pandemic.

The word “i-BIDA nATIn” which means “Internet-Based Intervention for the Development of Agriculture ng ATI Ngayon” aimed at reaching various stakeholders online even in the local community and far-flung areas.
Giving them the specific technologies on vegetable gardening that they may apply at their own backyard, pace and place.

The program was hosted by Ginalyn V. Arbutante, Information Officer II of ATI-Caraga based at Brgy. Los Angeles, Butuan City.
