Opening program of Webinar on Food Processing and Food Safety for Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL). There were 15 PDLs who participated in the webinar which was also facilitated by Sr. Inspector Diovin C. Auza, Butuan City Jail Warden (Male Dormitory) and Jail Inspector Marrion Gail Bernadette Dongan, Butuan City Jail Warden (Female Dormitory).
LOS ANGELES, Butuan City – For the first time in many years the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center 13 conducted training on Food Processing and Food Safety to Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) in Butuan City via an online platform. The webinar was conducted from June 17-18, 2021 through Google Meet and in partnership with the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP).
The participants learned various food preparations like longganisa and siomai. At the jail facility, Sr. Inspector Diovin C. Auza, Butuan City Jail Warden (Male Dormitory) and Jail Inspector Marrion Gail Bernadette Dongan, Butuan City Jail Warden (Female Dormitory) also helped in facilitating the online training. Aside from the knowledge they gained, the PDLs also received starter kits for food processing from ATI. (with reports from Paula Mae Creencia and JP Abonitalla)
