LSA RTWG evaluates DA Caraga Region - Tagbina-RES

ATI 13- Regional Technical Working Group (RTWG) assesses the Learning Site for Agriculture (LSA) application of the Department of Agriculture Caraga Region – Tagbina Research and Experiment Station (RES) on June 11, 2020 with Farm Superintendent Jay Rem M. Loayon.

TAGBINA, Surigao del Sur – The evaluation for applicants of Learning Site for Agriculture (LSA) continues despite travel limitations due to Covid-19 pandemic as the Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) XIII Technical Working Group (TWG) visited the Department of Agriculture (DA) Caraga Region – Tagbina Research and Experiment Station (RES) last June 11, 2020.

Mr. Jay Rem M. Loayon, Farm Superintendent II, said that the area has a total land area of six hectares used for livestock, poultry and crops production. Animals raised were goats, swine, and chicken. Some crops produced in the area were coffee, cacao, sweet potato, ginger and cassava.

With the pandemic, DA Caraga Region RES distributed assorted vegetable seeds and crop cuttings to interested individuals from nearby barangays of municipalities.
Further, the area is not only devoted to research but is also used for fruit processing and forage production.
