Alegado’s Farm qualifies for LSA-enhancement support

BUTUAN CITY – Shortly a year after its certification as rice-based Learning Site for Agriculture (RCEP-LSA) under the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF), Violeta Alegado, owner of Alegado’s Farm eyed potential project components worth venturing in her farm located in Agong-ong, Buenavista, Agusan del Norte.

One of these is the establishment of tilapia production and improvement of the vegetable project which she proposed during the initial validation conducted by the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center 13 last June 17, 2020. She also plans to start producing mushrooms for additional income.

The validation team included Engr. Matt Andrew G. Baquiano, OIC-Chief of the Partnership and Accreditation Services Section, Engr. Joel M. Laure, Agriculturist II and Rejane M. Ata, Technical Staff of the Career Development and Management Services Section – RCEF. Baquiano recommended the adoption of good hygiene which will be incorporated in the farm practices.

The team noted significant progress in the implementation of the LSA’s one-year site development plan particularly the completed training facility and other project improvements which availed themselves of the opportunity to receive additional financial support.

Alegado’s Farm is among the three recipients of this year’s LSA-enhancement fund under RCEF. (with the report from Rejane M. Ata)
