LOS ANGELES, Butuan City – On its latest episode last June 12, 2020, the “i-BIDA nATIn” or Internet-based Intervention for the Development of Agriculture ng Agricultural Training Institute ngayon highlighted the production of Indigenous Microorganism (IMO) as part of the webinar series on concoction.
The IMO is a group of beneficial microorganisms that inhabit the soil and surfaces which have the potentiality in bio-composting and nitrogen fixation thus improving soil fertility and plant growth. It could also be mixed with rice bran as a compost starter. Its sludge could also be used as fertilizer. Further, IMO could be applied on beddings of livestock or poultry pens to get rid of its smell.
More than 30 agri-enthusiasts and individuals joined the webinar. They were given time to raise their questions which were answered by the resource person, Ms. Paul Mae A. Creencia, Development Management Officer II of ATI. Engr. Matt Andrew G. Bacquiano , OIC-Chief of the Partnership and Accreditation Services Section (PASS), was also present to assist during the activity.
