Youths, Farmers join DFP 101 training in Bislig City

Fil Victor Babanto, Information Officer III introduced the different agricultural applications, social media marketing and video editing during the training on Digital Farmers Program 101 in Bislig City, Surigao del Sur on June 8-9, 2021.

BISLIG CITY, Surigao del Sur- The Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) 13 successfully conducted the two-day training on Digital Farmers Program (DFP) 101 in Bislig City on June 8-9, 2021. This is in coordination with the City Agriculture Office (CAO) of Bislig in Surigao del Sur.

The said training was participated by 22 participants comprising farmers and youths. It aimed at encouraging farmers to utilize their smartphones as well as accessing the internet which was delivered by Ginalyn Arbutante, Information Officer II in the morning session.

On the other hand, Fil Victor Babanto, Information Officer III introduced the different agricultural applications and social media marketing on the first day afternoon session.

On the second day, Babanto taught participants how to edit and package a video promoting their own agricultural products.

Moreover, Abner Abucay, Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) from CAO assisted ATI staff in facilitating the attendance of participants as well as the arrangement of the venue before and after the conduct of the DFP 101 training. He warmly welcomed everyone during the opening program on behalf of Acting City Agriculturist Lolit Sayman.

Indeed, participants were able to apply their knowledge gained through field and hands-on activity such as measuring the fields or area using the and packaging an advocacy video by pairs or farmer-youth tandem.
