Caraga Region to host 2020 4-H National Convention

Farm Youth (4-H) National Convention

The Caraga Region delegates composed of 4-Hers, coordinators, and ATI-RTC 13 representatives during the 67th Farm Youth (4-H) National Convention on May 28-31, 2019 at Hotelinda Suites, Vigan City, Ilocos Sur.

VIGAN CITY, Ilocos Sur – With more than 400 participants, it was announced during the 67th Farm Youth (4-H) National Convention on May 28-31, 2019, Caraga Region will be the host for next year’s congress.

Junito Santing, 4-H Club Caraga Regional President said, “It is an honor and privilege for 4-H Club Caraga to be chosen as the venue for next year’s event. It is a big challenge that comes with great responsibility. But behind the challenges that we may undertake for its success, we see it as an opportunity to show the beauty of our region.”

During the event held in Hotelinda Suites, delegates from the region garnered awards and ranked over-all as 6th Place from the results of seven contests namely: On-the-Spot Canvass Painting, Spoken Poetry, 4-H Quiz Bee, 4-H Himig Handog (songwriting and singing competition), Cacao Based Food Processing and Packaging Technology, Terrarium (Glass Gardening), and 4-H Promotional Video Making Contest.

“This year’s convention reminded us that we are ambassadors to promote the love for farming in this generation. As what the 4H stands for, we were encouraged to use our head to apply the knowledge we gain, our heart to spread love, our hands to extend help to those in need, and our health for sustainable development in agriculture,” says Jiar G. Ruel, a 4-H member from Buenavista, Agusan del Norte.

All in all, regional 4-H officers, members, municipal and provincial coordinators committed to help the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) 13 prepare for the said activity.
