ATI-Caraga’s Food Park nATIn celebrates Harvest Festival

Center Director Samuel L. Calonzo graced the harvest festival of ATI-Caraga's Food Park nATIn on May 21, 2021.

LOS ANGELES, Butuan City- The Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) 13 conducted a Harvest Festival right the Center’s Food Park nATIn on May 21, 2021.
All staff of ATI-Caraga joined in the said activity. This is in line with the “Plant Plant Plant Program” of the Department of Agriculture headed by Secretary Willian D. Dar.

Assistant Center Director Heracleo A. Paler welcomed everyone during the program. “ATI-Caraga established urban vegetable garden and ensures that all staff participate wholeheartedly”, Paler said. He also introduced the four teams comprising Vertical, Container, Modern and Indigenous vegetable gardening Teams. Each team prepare their yell describing their own vegetable gardens maintained every end of the day. This becomes part of the staff’s daily routine at the same time stress reliever from office works.

The said festival was graced by Center Director Samuel L. Calonzo. He introduced various crops and livestock that can be found at the farm. Available crops in the farm are rice, cacao, banana, lemon, papaya and fruit trees such as rambutan, mangosteen, lanzones, jackfruit and a lot more. Livestock composed of free range chicken, ducks, pigs, goats and others.

“Through this, the farm was conceptualized as Food Park ng Agricultural Training Institute ngayon dubbed as “Food Park nATIn”, we hope that listeners and viewers specifically the netizens learned a lot and inspired more in establishing their own garden through our program,” CD Calonzo said. He also added that the vegetable garden known as “ATIng Gulayan” is a component of the Food Park nATIn.

Moreover, pechay, lettuce, string onion, spinach and upland kangkong are among the vegetables harvested on that day. The staff also happily picked some ripe strawberries from the garden.

Ginalyn V. Arbutante, Information Officer II of ATI-Caraga hosted the program that was live via ATI Caraga Region Facebook Page through the full effort of the Information Services Section (ISS) headed by Section Chief Fil Victor A. Babanto.
