SOA programs capture audience in the airwaves

Hit the airwaves: SOA program host, Ms. Sabaldan aired its first episode on GAHP- Livestock Production in Surigao del Norte on May 30, 2018 via DXSN radio station.

LOS ANGELES, Butuan City- The Agricultural Training Institute- Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) 13 has launched and started airing its three School-on-the-Air (SOA) programs in the provinces of Agusan del Sur, Agusan del Norte and Surigao del Norte.

Recently, the SOA program on Good Animal Husbandry Practices on Livestock Production in Agusan del Sur aired its first episode on May 25, 2018 via Pulse FM 100.7 khz based in San Francisco, ADS. The identified 650 SOA enrollees will be listening to the program every Friday at 5:00 to 6:00 o’clock in the morning. Ms. Minda Manliguez from the Provincial Veterinary Office served as the regular host of the said program.

On the other hand, the Cassava Production program first aired on May 29, 2018 via DXIM 93.5 khz, Hope Radio based in Butuan City. This was hosted by the Cassava Focal Persons from the Provincial Agriculture Office of Agusan del Norte headed by Mr. Oscar Tuyor. The 600 SOA enrollees came from the 11 participating municipalities and one city of the said province.

Moreover, another SOA program in Surigao del Norte which talks about GAHP on Livestock Production started yesterday, May 30 and will be heard every Wednesday at 5-6 AM via DXSN-FM 1017 khz. Hosted by Ms. Stella Asuncion Sabaldan from the Provincial Veterinary Office of SDN.

The said programs aimed to intensify the promotion of the identified agricultural technologies to the said provinces using radio as a communication medium. It will not only educate farmers and the listening public in general by bringing them first-hand information but entertain them as well.
