LGU-Talacogon, ADS launched FITS Center to cater more farmers

ATI-Caraga represented by Fil Victor Babanto, Information Officer III handed the Php100,000.00 check to the LGU as catalytic or support fund to their established FITS Center during the program.

TALACOGON, Agusan del Sur- The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Talacogon, Agusan del Sur successfully launched their Farmers Information and Technology Services (FITS) Center on April 30, 2021.

The launching ceremony was attended by the Barangay Agricultural Workers (BAWs) as participants from the different barangays in Talacogon. Magsasaka Siyentista (MS) and staff of the Municipal Agriculture Office also joined in.

Moreover, Mayor Pauline Marie Masendo graced the said activity and do the ribbon-cutting during the program along with Vice Mayor Demigillo and Municipal Agriculturist Reuel Barraca. “I encourage everyone to participate and utilize the use of our FITS center for us to learn more and help other farmers to be updated on various agricultural technologies that can be applied in the farm,” stated Mayor Masendo during her message. She challenged the BAWs to serve and promote the FITS center to their co-farmers, students and other stakeholders to visit anytime to the said center for more knowledge to gain.

On the other hand, ATI-Caraga represented by Fil Victor Babanto, Information Officer III handed the Php100,000.00 check to the LGU as catalytic or support fund to their established FITS Center. Ginalyn V. Arbutante, Information Officer II presented the overview of the Techno Gabay Program (TGP) wherein FITS center served as one component.

The FITS center is under the Techno Gabay Program of the ATI-RTC 13 in which serving farmers right at their doorstep is the program’s primary concern.
