CANTILAN, Surigao del Sur – The Regional Technical Working Committee (RTWC) of the Techno Gabay Program (TGP) evaluated the proposed Farmers’ Information and Technology Services (FITS) Center in Cantilan, Surigao del Sur on May 21, 2019.
The RTWC comprises representatives from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), and Partner Agencies from the State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) and from the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) 13 as Chairman.
Fil Victor A. Babanto, Information Officer III of ATI-Caraga headed the said evaluation. With him are Rodel G. Pasion from the Caraga State University, Luisito M. Torres from the Surigao del Sur State University (SDSSU)-Cantilan Campus, Engr. Criseldo C. Calinawan from CHED together with Ginalyn V. Arbutante, Information Officer II of ATI-Caraga.
In lieu of Municipal Agriculturist/FITS Manager Ceasar O. Blanco, Ms. Myla M. Blanco, Agricultural Extension Worker (AEW) in the Municipal Agriculture Office of Cantilan, SDS was interviewed by the evaluators as to the requirements and other data needed in the FITS Center.
The two Magsasaka Siyentista (MS) nominees were also evaluated by the RTWC. As a result of the evaluation, the said FITS center is for recommendation to the ATI-Central Office.
On the other hand, Mr. Karsten O. Tupas from Brgy. Parang, Cantilan, Surigao del Sur qualified as MS and for issuance of a Certificate of Appointment.
