BLINDFOLDED & CLUNG: Engr. John Tingas (CAO-Butuan), Aline Sayon (PAO-PDI), and Teresa Cuenca (MAO-Rosario) sought out their remaining groupmates using only their chosen animal sound. This game was just among the many team-building activities conducted during the Capability Enhancement for 4-H/RBO Coordinators last May 21-24, 2019 at the Punta Buena Swerte Resort, Libjo, Province of Dinagat Islands.
LIBJO, Province of Dinagat Islands – Twenty-seven 4-H/RBO coordinators and members participated in the Capability Enhancement for 4-H/RBO Coordinators conducted by the Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center 13 (ATI-Caraga) last May 21-24, 2019 at the Punta Buena Swerte Resort.
Mary Jane Gonzaga, Development Management Officer I and Project Officer of the training explained during the opening program that coordinators must be given opportunities to gear up their effectiveness and competitiveness. These leaders are propagators of imparting significant impact for the prime partners in agricultural development. Thus, through this activity it will not only capacitate them but also recognize their great contribution in bringing about effective involvement and active participation of 4-H/RBOs in the locality.
Day 1 of the training included the opening program, pre-training activities, lectures, and meetings. Topics discussed were the following: What is RBO? by Gonzaga and Effective Facilitation and Writing Skills by Jason Paul Dads E. Jampac, RBO Coordinator and Media Production Specialist II of ATI-Caraga.
Day 2 included training preliminaries and continuation of discussions. Topics included: Transformational Leadership and Organization Management which was delivered again by Gonzaga. A Get-Together/Socials Night took place in the evening to strengthen the camaraderie among the participants at the same time counterbalance the strenuous workshops and activities during the past two days.
Day 3 began with the reading of reflections and energizers to set the tone of the morning activity. The rest of the morning were devoted to team dynamics/team building activities. The afternoon session was scheduled for the RBO meeting where future activities and issues were discussed. Training evaluations and test were also conducted prior to the closing program.
Participants’ feedback about the training were generally positive. Engr. John Tingas of the City Agriculturist Office (CAO) in Butuan City said, “I felt very happy because of the new learnings that were shared to us by our speakers. Despite the challenges they underwent, they were able to deliver the topics very well. In general, my expectations about this training were all met.”
In the next months to come, the same training will be made for the leaders of the Rural Improvement Clubs (RIC) and farmers’ associations.
