Mary Grace Salve, ATI-Caraga’s Scholarship Point Person, discussed with the Local Scholarship Committee the details of the EAsY AGRI program.
LOS ANGELES, Butuan City – The Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) offers a college scholarship program in support to the children of smallholder farmers and fishers who are inclined to agriculture. The program dubbed as Educational Assistance for the Youth (EAsY AGRI) provides the youth with equal opportunities to pursue a degree program in Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, and other agriculture-related courses which shall be granted through State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) for the school year 2020-2025.
To finalize the policies and adjustments in the regional level, the Scholarship Committee chaired by Center Director Samuel L. Calonzo with section/unit heads as members convened yesterday, May 20, 2020. One of the agreements was the extension in the deadline of submission of documentary requirements considering that some SUCs are yet to conduct the qualifying examination due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Submission of documentary requirements other than medical certification and proof of admission of the preferred SUC is extended until May 29, 2020.
CD Calonzo emphasized the need to closely coordinate with partner SUCs and make necessary adjustments of the schedules to allow applicants to complete the needed requirements of the program.
Under the EAsY AGRI program, there are 14 slots awaiting the qualified and deserving youth wherein 10 are for agriculture and related courses and 4 for Agricultural Engineering students which will be distributed among the five provinces in the region.
Interested applicants are advised to submit their application together with the documentary requirements to ATI-RTC 13, Los Angeles, Butuan City. Details of these requirements are posted at ATI-RTC 13’s website (www.ati.da.gov.ph/ati-13) and Facebook page (ATI Caraga Region) for further information and guidance.
