SOA on Cacao to air this May

BUTUAN CITY, Agusan del Norte – Aiming to promote the Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) in cacao production and postharvest handling, the Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) in partnership with the Provincial Agriculture and Veterinary Office (PAVO) of Agusan del Sur will launch its “Asenso ‘Kaw sa Kakaw: School on-the-Air (SOA) Program on Cacao Production on May 20, 2021.

This is to strengthen the promotion of cacao production through the use of radio to reach a larger number of audiences ranging from farmers, Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs), students, housewives, and other agri-enthusiasts.

The program specifically aims to address problems and information needs on cacao production; provide a brief, accurate, and concise information on cacao production; increase SOA students’ knowledge; document and answer the concerns of farmers, AEWs, and students that were sent through text.

The program will be hosted by Joel B. Corvera - Farmcaster of PAVO, and will be heard over Hope Radio Philippines Butuan 93.5 FM every Thursday at 5:00 – 6:00 AM for 16 sessions until September 2, 2021. Said program will also be seen live via ATI Caraga Region's official Facebook page.
